The town of Aguas Amargas (Bitter Waters) is a town in California that is unincorporated town as part of the Los Palos county.
The town is located in what would be Los Gatos, California with the appearance of the territory of Mendocino or Ukiah in California.
There is a lot of trees and there are many disperesed areas surrounding the main town and main street.

The town happens to have a nearby nuclear power plant facility that has a microfusion reactor. The town gets most if not all the power from this brand new reactor that was built privately in 1997 but has been continuously been improved over time to reflect the latest advanced research applications for microfusion nuclear reactor technology.

Because of the sacle and size of this reactor, you couldn't see it anywhere with the cooling towers are an array of forced drafts cooling towers but with some particular changes done to the fan fin designs that push out more exhaust and also incorporates a side fan intake for introducing cold air into the cooling reactors. This particular design allows for enhanced cooling in addition to the waters that are introduced that come from the Pacific Ocean and are chilled with a process that makes use of the power generated by the reactors themselves! The design is not perfect but the closeness to having an almost "self propulsion nuclear reactor" that allows for easy maintenance and cooling is close.

The town is mainly a tourist attraction as it once was a mining boom town for gold, silver, and recently, curiously, a new ore for palladium mining which is presided by the Levay/Dupont Mining Company which is the biggest employer and works closesly with the nuclear power plant who people don't know quite exactly the name of the company but nickname it "Paramount Nuclear" with rumors that the name comes from the cooling towers forming plumes that remind people of the Paramount Pictures logo for some reason.

The curiosu thing about this town is that in spite of it's latter 19th century gold rush origins, it has a very particular layout that makes it seem older than it is: with faux Victorian homes and estates that sometimes double up as duplexes, with a layout that is reminiscent to the Swiss towns and Czech or Slovak cities. The story goes that prospectors that prospered in the gold rush, and subsequent oil barons from Texas and Louisiana came to this part of Northern California of Aguas Amargas to have a town that they can hide in plain sight. So they pooled in money to build the town from the rustic Appalachian-like appearance of most typical boom towns of the times and turn it into a proper town with architectures that don't emulate central European town design but outright make it so much so that it comes off as someone ripped out a part of Czech or Slovakia and smacked it in the middle of Northern California. So it's a very curious town indeed for tourists to come visit that want the European feel but without the European prices in America.

The denizens of Aguas Amargas are a mix of languages: English, Spanish, Russian, and Japanese are spoken mainly and that is because of the history that dates back to the days of the Japanese immigration due to the gentlemen's agreements before the establishment of modern immigration codes, and the Russian settlers that decided to stay within the American territories to continue living in this part of Northern California, and the historical frontiers of Spanish colonial territories of California that later became part of Mexico where to this day, Mexican immigrants come and see it as a historical part of Mexico in spite of the town, state are part of the United States.

Main spots to check out

There are a few places to check out: the steak house called "Old Huskey's". This establishment dates back to 1882 and has been the premier destination for some classic steak staples as the mushroom and beefsteak but the specialty of Old Huskey's is the onion beefsteak that incorporates a combination of white, yellow and red onion mix, black and white pepper, and a choice cut of beef that has been smoked on a proprietary blend of mesquite and hickory. In addition it happens to be the only American beefsteak establishment with a Japanese sister restaurant that that dates back to the last years of the Meiji era! So this means on top of the usual Aberdeen Angus and Hereford, they sometimes get imports from their sister restaurant of Japanese Wagyu that both restaurants invest in farming and raising as part of the exhcnages they have where Old Husky's sends Aberdeen Angus and Hereford cuts and the sister restaurant sends Wagyu and Kobe beef. The sister restaurant's name is 石川川沿いの焼肉
or "Yakiniku by the Ishikawa River" literally translated but the best name is "Ishikawa River Steakhouse" which is the informal name known as being more modern and easier to find for tourists both domestic and foreign alike. It is located near Niigata Japan.

The idea for this "sister" restaurant is to effectively have a place outside of the U.S. where a detour story line can be set up or a mysterious entity who's restaurant menu items appear as health items in the game as in-universe references.
